The “ARRI” Looks

The “Film” Looks

Phantom LUTs are Rec.709 finishing LUTs designed to take your camera’s native BMD Log footage into the Rec.709 colour space, delivering a finished look that emulates the Alexa709 LUT.

For URSA Mini G2 users who need to colour match with an ARRI Alexa, want more creative choices for their post workflow, or are unsatisfied with the standard BMD Technical 709 LUTs, this pack is designed to give the camera a more natural, accurate and cinematic Rec.709 starting point.

Gen 4 and Gen 5 Colour Science are supported, and these LUTs are compatible with both URSA G1 and G2 because they share the same sensor.

The ARRI Look pack includes the main Alexa 709 emulation plus four creative variations. The Film Look pack includes six film-inspired LUTs designed for BMD Log footage.

The ARRI 5-Pack

Along with the emulation LUT, there are 4 creative variation LUTs
that come with it packaged as the ARRI LUT 5 Pack.

The ‘Film Look’ LUT Pack contains 6 LUTs inspired by real film stocks designed to give your BMD Log footage the Film Look. The emulations are based on my own research and subjective impressions of the film stocks listed.

Color Grading with Phantom LUTs

What Exactly Are LUTs?

A LUT (Look-Up Table) is a file containing a predefined set of mathematical instructions to transform colors in an image or video. In filmmaking, LUTs are essential for converting flat, low-contrast log footage into a rich, cinematic image. They are the fastest and most consistent way to achieve a professional color grade, but their quality is determined by the precision of their creation.
